The museum has reopened its doors for interactive play and is now operating on a normal schedule. 

Baby formula, shelf stable food, diapers, wipes, cleaning supplies, and more are still avalaible within the museum's FREE resource center.

 All of our exhibits are kid-powered, allowing children to explore, discover, and learn by doing. The museum is a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment featuring 13,000 square feet of learning experiences.

Hands On! Children’s Museum reserves the right to take photos and videos of visitors to further its mission. Your entrance into Hands On! constitutes acceptance of this policy.

Through the Access for All Program, WNC families experiencing financial hardships can visit Hands On! Children's Museum for FREE with the presentation of an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) or Women Infants Children (WIC) card.  

 

How to I utilize the Access for All Program?

Upon your arrival to the museum, please indicate your interest in the program by presenting your Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card or a WIC card/voucher. Museum admission is valid for the entire day of your visit. All children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. DISASTER SNAP IS ACCEPTED.

 

Who is eligible for the Access for All Program? 

Access for All benefits are for Western North Carolina adults, seniors, and children, for up to SIX (6) total family members.

Safety Protocols & Facility Cleaning


  • HAND WASHING AND SANITIZATION: All adults and children are encouraged to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer prior to entering the museum’s exhibit galleries. Multiple hand sanitization stations are avaliable for use throughout our facility. 

  • CLEANING FREQUENCY: An intense deep cleaning and sanitization of equipment and shared areas such as restrooms, seating, railings, and entryways takes place daily. High touch and wipeable exhibit surfaces are cleaned frequently throughout the day using CDC approved and child-safe cleaning products. 

  • Parents and caretakers are encouraged to use designated “ICKY BOXES” located throughout the museum to identify and isolate exhibit toys and props that need to be sanitized.

From the Interstate
When traveling on I-26, take exit 49B to Hendersonville.  Travel west on Four Seasons Blvd. to downtown.  Turn left on Main Street.  Hands On! is on the left between 4th and 3rd Aves. E.

 

From Greenville, on Hwy 225N
Drive north on Hwy. 225 through Flat Rock.  At the intersection of 225N and Hwy 176, 225N becomes 25N Business.  Bear to the right as you cross the railroad tracks.  Follow King Street to 3rd Ave. E. and turn left.

 

From Asheville, on Hwy 25S
Drive south on Hwy. 25 to downtown Hendersonville.  You will be on Church St.  Turn left on 5th, 4th, or 3rd Aves. E. to Main Street.  Hands On! is between 3rd and 4th Aves. E.

 

From Brevard, on 64E
Follow 64E into Hendersonville.  Turn right on Main St.  Hands On! is on the left between 4th and 3rd Aves. E.

 

From Edneyville, on 64W
Follow 64W into Hendersonville.  Turn left on Main St.  Hands On! is on the left between 4th and 3rd Aves. E.

Car & Van Parking

Parking for cars and passenger vans is available in the Azalea Public Parking Lot, located at the corner of 3rd Avenue East and King Street, directly behind the museum. The Azalea lot is owned and operated by the City of Hendersonville, and there is a fee to park your vehicle. The Azalea Parking Lot address is 318 North King Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792. 

 

Bus Parking

Bus parking is available at the Hendersonville Visitors Information Center, located at 201 South Main Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
