Facts About Hands On! 

• Hands On! incorporated in 2004 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and opened its doors to the public in 2007. 
• 40% of operating costs come from admissions and program fees, and the remaining 60% must come from donations and grants. 
• Hands On! provides FREE ADMISSION to thousands of low-income children throughout Western NC. 
• Hands On! provides FREE FIELD TRIPS to Title 1 Elementary Schools in Western NC. 
• Over 60,000 children and families visit the museum each year!
• Many of the museum's exhibits and STEAM programs complement the NC Standard Course of Study and NC PreK Learning Standards.
