Our 2-hour seminars are designed for
grades 3-5 and are for those that want to delve deep into a subject or have an out-of-classroom experience on the school grounds, whether it is a school nature trail or playground.

Nature Exploration – Dive into the world of ecosystems. Explore the world outside your
classroom. Whether using a nature trail on site or an open field, generic participants will examine ecosystems as small
as a square foot and as large as a forest or meadow. We will discuss what defines an ecosystem and what
makes them fragile or resilient. Through group games, participants will learn food, population, and other
ecosystem cycles. Grade 5.
Essential Standards: 5.L.2.1, 5.L.2

Airplanes, Rockets & Catapults – Oh My! – Dr. Bunsen & Dr. Beaker examine motion & the factors
affecting motion with airplanes, rockets & catapults. Get familiar with Newton’s laws of Physics and more with
lots of Hands On! fun. Grades 3, 4, 5.
Essential Standards: 3.P.1, 3.P.3, 4.P.3.1, 4.P.3,2, 5.P.1.1, 5.P.1.2, 5.P.1.3, 5.P.1.4

C.S.I. Crime Scene Investigation – Become a detective! Collect and examine evidence. Students will
conduct experiments to learn what the evidence reveals. Grades, 3, 4
Essential Standards: 3.P.2.2, 4.P.2.1

Design YOUR Own Seminar* – Work with Hands On! educators to design a 2- hour seminar to meet
any of your science curriculum goals. Includes 1- hour consultation with teacher and email communication to
achieve the exact program you for which you are looking. Grades: 3, 4, 5. (Additional $50 design fee)
Essential Standards: You choose the ones you want to cover.


THE SCIENTIFIC FACTS for all Mad Scientists on Wheels Seminars:

$210 for 1 class up to 25 students ($8/student over 25);

$140 for same day additional classes;

No cost for teachers/adult chaperones;

Requires 1 adult per every 12 children for assistance & group monitoring;

$50 non-refundable deposit to secure your date;

and additional mileage cost incurred if program is outside of Henderson County at the rate of .54 per mile from Hands On! to program location and back.
