Preschool Programs I 30-45 minute programs developmentally geared for ages 4 & 5.
Choose from one of the three programs offered, and you are on your way to “Hands On!” learning for your students!
1. Crazy Chemistry – Dr. Bunson & Dr. Beaker will teach the fundamental definition of chemistry and engage children with measuring, mixing & concocting! Children will engage in important science skills like observing, comparing & predicting while making Oatmeal Play Clay. All supplies provided. Children will love learning chemistry and taking their creation home!
2. Wiggle with the Worms – Dr. Bunson & Dr. Beaker (worm farmers extraordinaire) introduce the wild world of worms! Children will learn all about worms, their habitat and why they are so important to us! The children will enjoy lots of Hands On! experimentation with both imitation & real worms. Worm coloring pages & fun worm facts provided to use in class or take home!
3. Power of Plants – Botanists, Dr. Bunson & Dr. Beaker, will lead the children in experimentation that will show them the power of plants. All of their senses will be employed to see, feel, hear, smell & taste plants. This is an all sensory session that will guide children to an understanding of the role plants play in our world. Interactive seed or leaf rubbing project to take home or decorate the class.
Cost for all workshops: $5 per child with a $50 minimum; no cost for teachers/adult chaperones; require 1 adult per every 12 children for assistance & group monitoring. $25.00 deposit to secure your date. Additional mileage cost incurred if program is outside of Henderson County at the rate of .44 per mile from Hands On! to program location and back.
