Make Downtown Discoveries At Hands On!

If winter has your kids spending a little too much couch time with their hands on their tablets, Hendersonville’s Hands On! – A Child’s Gallery may be the cure for brain freeze.
“We like to say this a space where learning comes into play,” says Heather Boeke, the museum’s executive director.
The museum features a dozen exhibit areas. There’s a Lego raceway, where kids race cars they build themselves. The enLIGHTen giant peg board lets kids explore shapes and patterns. The Nature Nook features two water cannons visitors can use to shoot a stream into a waterfall.
“We want parents to play too, and ask their kids, ‘that rock your aiming at, what color is it? Do you know that’s an amethyst?’. There are opportunities like that throughout the entire museum.”
