ExxonMobil Supports Local Education at Hands On!

$3,500 donation to support STEM educational offerings

(Hendersonville, N.C.)  ExxonMobil has donated $3,500 to support Hendersonville’s children’s museum, Hands On!-A Child’s Gallery. This is the 7th year that the company has supported our community through Hands On! as part of its support of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education in the U.S.

“We are proud to be recognized by a reputable business such as Exxon Mobil for our accomplishments in STEM education,” says Heather Boeke, Executive Director of Hands On!. “This donation will allow us to continue making great progress building both the quality and quantity of our exhibits and traveling programs that align with state-mandated curriculum and will specifically support the addition of a MAKERSPACE exhibit in October and November of this year.”

The mission of Hands On! is to provide children and families with “hands-on” educational exhibits and science programs that stimulate the imagination and motivate learning in a fun, safe environment. Hands On! is open at 318 N. Main St. Tuesday–Saturday 10:00 -5:00 and can be contacted at 697-8333 or www.handsonwnc.org for further information.
