The muddy race and festival will take place on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Berkeley Park in Hendersonville, with all event proceeds benefiting Hands On! – A Child’s Gallery. This year, participants can choose to run with a team of four or as timed or untimed individual runners. Teams and individuals can register online at; those registering before March 15 will receive an early-bird discount on the regular registration fee.

“We are going with the “Choose your Challenge” theme this year to ensure participants are offered the variety they have requested of us. This is a big year for Hands On!, as we are celebrating our 10th year of serving the community. Our board and mud run planning committee members are working on creative ways to bring this excitement into the mud run,” said Heather Boeke, Executive Director for Hands On!. “We are grateful that Pardee UNC Healthcare is our generous presenting sponsor to help us raise funds and awareness for Hands On! in our 10th year.”

The event is a 3-plus mile race filled with muddy obstacles. This year participants can choose their challenge. Options include: Timed Individual – Recommended for competitive runners who want to see if they can be the fastest individual through the course; Untimed Individuals – Recommended for those who want to run with a group of friends and not take the competition seriously; and Teams of 4 – A team captain will register all 4 team members and choose the competitive level best for your team. Teams are timed and will start and finish together.

The race is coupled with an all-day festival that offers food, craft beer, and live music for racers and spectators. “We will even have some new, fun challenges for the spectators as well,” said Boeke. For more information or to register, go to
