Children's Museum is pleased to offer Title 1 Elementary Schools throughout Western North Carolina, the opportuinity to recieve a FREE STEM focused Field Trip to the museum during the 2023 - 2024 school year! Hands On! offers field trip experiences to a variety of schools, pre-schools, child care centers, day camps, churches, and  other community-based organizations. Planning Your Visit

A field trip consists of TEN (10) or more paying visitors who make a reservation with the museum at least two weeks in advance of their desired museum visit. Special admission rates are avaliable for Home School Groups, please call 828-697-8333 x221 for more information.

Curriculum Alignment 

The museum offers a variety of interactive learning experiences that encourage children of all ages to become 21st century lifelong learners. Many of our exhibits and interactive STEAM programs are designed to complement the NC Pre-K Foundations for Early Learning and Development and the NC Standard Course of Study. Chaperones

The museum requires ONE (1) adult chaperone for every FIVE (5) students. Chaperones, teachers, and caregivers are expected to supervise their students at all times. Extra Chaperones that exceed the 1:5 ratio will be charged $10 per adult. 

Lunch

Space for students to eat bagged lunch is available at a cost of $20 per 30 minute session. (advance notice required)

Museum Store

The Museum offers a wide variety of educational toys and souvenirs for children of all ages. Groups are encouraged to include time within their planned visit to explore the museum store. Pre-packaged goodie bags are available for purchase upon request, call 828-697-8333 x221 for more information.

Payment

Payment is due on the day of your visit to the museum. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards. Memberships may not be used with group admission. 


Location & Parking

Hands On! Children's Museum is located at 318 North Main Street, Hendersonville North Carolina 28792 in historic downtown. 


Unloading & Loading

All field trip groups are required to unload and load students within the Azalea Public Parking Lot, located at the corner of 3rd Avenue East and King Street, directly behind the museum. Groups are not permitted to load and unload students on Main Street due to the flow of traffic. The parking lot address is 318 North King Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792.


Car & Van Parking

Parking for cars and passengar vans is avalable in the Azalea Public Parking Lot, located at the corner of 3rd Avenue East and King Street, directly behind the museum. The Azalea lot is owned and operated by the City of Hendersonville, and there is a fee to park your vehicle. The parking lot address is 318 North King Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792. 


Bus Parking

Bus parking is avaliable at the Hendersonville Visitors Information Center, located at 201 South Main Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
